A WORD ABOUT
CURRENT TRENDS AND
WHO WE ARE

If you are looking to visit Faith Harvest, you may be looking to find out more about what we believe. Let us start by giving a little info about ‘what we’re not’.

Faith Harvest is not associated with any of the Harvest church movements nor with any Word of Faith movement.

We are NOT emergent, nor are we part of the “Seeker-friendly movement”, both of which present a diluted version of the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ.

Though we believe in the present day ministry and fullness of the Holy Spirit, we are NOT part of the extreme prophetic or extreme charismatic movements.

And while we allow women to teach and minister we are NOT liberal nor in agreement with feminism. Our belief in women in ministry comes from much study in the Word of God (See our online teaching, “Your Sons and Your Daughters”)

STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, inspired, infallible, unchanging, and errorless in the original text.

WE BELIEVE that there is One Living and True God, eternally existing in the persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

WE BELIEVE that God, the Father, is an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and His soon return to the earth. We believe that He is the only Lord and Savior of the world.

WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all of the Biblical gifts of the Spirit, including the gift of tongues. We believe that believers who ask to be filled, or baptized, in the Holy Spirit will receive these gifts as the Holy Spirit directs. We believe that the gift of tongues as a personal prayer language is available to all; Rather than being a proof of Holy Spirit fullness, we believe that it is a provision for those who seek in faith.

WE BELIEVE that all men are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation; that God saves those who, by faith, repent of their sins, confess Jesus Christ as Lord, accepting the cleansing from sin provided by His precious blood. This is called the New Birth, which is necessary to all men, and when experienced produces eternal life. We believe that this gift of eternal life is received solely by grace, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and that it is not earned by works or human merit.

WE BELIEVE in the Church of the Living God, the living Spiritual Body of which Christ is the Head and all born again believers are members. The church is made up of believers from every tribe and tongue and nation and is empowered by God through the Holy Spirit to fulfill ministry and to carry out Christ’s Great Commission on earth.

WE BELIEVE in the personal, visible, appearing of Christ to earth to gather His church and establish His Kingdom; in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and the endless suffering of those who have rejected Christ.

WE BELIEVE in Baptism by immersion, which is the believer’s first act of obedience, symbolizing the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

WE BELIEVE in divine healing of the human body provided through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross in answer to believing prayer.

WE BELIEVE in the priesthood of all believers, so that every Christian has direct access to God in prayer through Jesus Christ, our Great High Priest, and that there is no mediator between God and humanity other than Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE that the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, is open to all sincere believers and each one is to search his/her own heart and come to the “table” as the Lord leads. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday, not as a ritual but as a living reminder of His death on the cross. It is a central part of our worship and is a perpetual reminder of His sacrificed body and shed blood.
